I was challenged by A Guy Called Bloke to take part in a new challenge, The Friday Funday Challenge – Game On – You Name It! Or, as I’m calling it “Everything You Never Wanted To Know – The In’s And Out’s Of A Ducks Arse”
Here’s how he described it:
We all like a bit of easy fun, if it’s not quotes, it’s prompts, or words of the day, well this is 20 questions!
Now, this is like in a way the old game of musical chairs with a twist. In that game it was a case of elimination of ‘players’, music and chairs, with one fewer chairs than players. When the music stopped, the person without a chair was eliminated from the game. Slowly over the duration of the game, more chairs were removed until there could be only one which was the winner.
With Game On – You Name It it’s slightly different ….
Each Friday l will ask 19 new questions, and nominate 3 bloggers of my own who will answer 16 of my questions, but insert 3 questions of their own and answer those as well, so that they are STILL answering 19 questions. They in turn will nominate 3 bloggers of their choice, who will answer 16 of the 19 questions asked by their nominator, insert 3 new questions and answer those and then choose 3 new bloggers. By the time the week is up, and the next time l design a new questionnaire, the old 19 questions should not resemble the previous weeks at all.
The Rules …
…because there are always rules they’re simple!
1] Thank the nominator
2] Answer Q1 – Q19 Questions
3] Nominate three bloggers of your choice and notify them.
4] Each selected blogger MUST answer 16 of the asked 19 questions, but also insert 3 new questions to make up the 19 compliment. Every time a new blogger is selected they MUST only answer 16 of the asked 19 questions as well as answer their own 3, and choose 3 new bloggers. Each time a new blogger sees the questionnaire it will be completely different to the next blogger along.
[Hint: delete three of the questions of you don’t like or have no answer for and insert your own in its place]
5] Q20 Must always remain intact.
Here are my answers
1] List 10 people [alive or dead] you would invite to dinner?
Hmm this is difficult. I don’t actually have any desire to add to the ego of most famous people. I’m also aware that I like them because of characters they play – most of them are right boring scrubbers without someone else feeding them lines!I love Dolly Parton in interviews so I’d pick her for definite. I’d like Simon Cowell too and that bald headed geezer from American idol? Howie Something? Not Howard Stern but I’d have him and Beth Stern too because she rescues cats and I admire her greatly. I’d also choose Neil Armstrong because I’d love to hear about space and the moon. I’d invite Ina Garten because I adore her and Garth Brooks because I just like the guy. How many is that? Eight okay – then I’d have Prince and Freddie Mercury too.
2] What are your favorite picnic foods? My mum wasn’t much of a cook – she thought it was beneath her. I’m sure that’s why I love cooking for others so much! She was good at picnics though. Ham sandwiches with cheese slices, ham, lettuce, tomato, cucumber and salad cream. The enzymes in the salad cream would react with the cheese slices to make them go all gooey and melty and it was sheer bliss. Ripe peaches, with juice running down my chin, cold chicken legs, slices of gala pie and big bottles of cream soda. Nostalgia can be a real feast.
3] What is your earliest memory? I remember being trapped in a playpen in a bedroom in my grandmas house in Ireland. Mum had obviously put me down for a nap but I’d woken up and felt deserted. I was very frightened. I never left my kids to sleep in another room during the day as a result.
4] What are your views on mainstream music? I like it! I have very wide music tastes and I have young adult kids so I’m exposed to it a lot I guess.
5] Where would you like to be in 7 years time? On a beach with cocktails!!
6] What are the colour of your eyes? Hazel
7] Do you like word games – if so which ones? Words with Husbands – explaining why I’m right and he’s a mong.
HOW MUCH DID YOU SPEND????! and it’s sequel YOU SHOW ME HOW MUCH YOU SPENT ON BIKE PARTS!! ….I usually win!
Cards against humanity and crosswords too.
8] What are your favourite comfort foods? Anything with copious amounts of fat and calories. Cake, cream cakes, Thornton’s licorice toffee, ‘hotel chocolat’ boxes of chocolates, KFC, both doner and shish kebabs, chips (French fries)drowning in a barrel of malt vinegar, birds eye fish finger sandwiches with salad cream.
9] What animal would you like to have as a pet? Always cats! I would like chipmunks, raccoons and groundhogs as outside pets again and I really would love a donkey. I bloody love donkeys.
10] Classical music or not? Yes please! I love it from the Royal Philharmonic right through to Apolyptica. Classical music is so much more than the stuffy pompous dirges people associate with the phrase. It’s loud and vibrant and alive.
11] What quote do people use that irritates the ever-lovin’ snot outta you? This too shall pass. Usually said in a smug patronising way. It’s not helpful. It’s irritating.
12] Do you prefer thrillers, horror movies or romantic movies? Honestly I like them all. It depends on the film and who’s in it. If I want to sleep, I’ll pick a film with Kevin Costner. I’ve never stayed awake through any movie with him in it.
13] Do you have any siblings? Yes I have two brothers and one sister.
14] Which 3 questions will you be deleting to add your own in? I deleted What are your goals to be achieved in the month of July 2018? With 5 things about society that annoy you? And lastly How important is creativity to people?
15] Your favourite childhood movie? I’m going with The Quiet Man but pretty much any John Wayne or Elvis film as my mum was always in a good mood when they were on. I lived in fear of her temper so things that made her happy were of paramount importance to me.
16] What traits do you display when nervous? I talk too much or conversely, not at all. I know. I can’t believe it either.
17] Are you healthy eater? I make a point of only eating healthy products. Healthy animals, chips made from healthy potatoes, healthy chickens at KFC, healthy butter and eggs in my cakes.. the list goes on.
18] Bullet point your day so far.
7:00 Finally gave up on sleeping and got in the shower.
7:30 Sat with coffee. Third cup does the trick and I’m out like a light.
10:00 Wake up with hair that would scare Bigfoot and my face stuck to the pillow where I had dribbled. Back to shower to wash off evidence of slobbery.
10:30 Sit outside on deck in big velvet dressing gown as ‘im indoors had AC set to ‘Hoth’. Endure exclamations of “Are you insane?!” as I’m wrapped up and it’s 82f. In my defence I’m sat in the shade and it’s breezy.
11:30 Go to Wegmans. It’s full of screaming kids and smelly people. Spend half an hour dropping bars of soap and condoms in unattended shopping carts. This never fails to amuse.
12:30 lunch time. Eggs and Avocado on toast with lashings of Chohula. Still hungry so also ate king size Snickers bar, whole packet of pepperoni, 6 rice cakes and two Klondike bars (choc ices) Hopefully I’ll last out until dinner time. ‘im indoors called me a pig. At 107lbs there ain’t much bacon on me! (7.5 stone 48.5kg)
13:00 Sat on deck trying to read but constantly getting interrupted by ‘im indoors. “You do realise there’s a heat advisory?” Checked outside thermometer. 102f in shade and I’m in the sun. Checked living room. 62f AND ‘im indoors. No contest really – I’ll fry!
14:00 Give up and go indoors. 108f outside and I burned the bottom of my toe on my flip flop.
19] What are your 5 most favourite scents/smells?
Night scented stocks
Orange Blossom
Freshly mown grass
Frying onions
Johnson and Johnson baby powder
20] The three bloggers you are nominating are?
I love the idea of dropping soap and condoms into shopping carts!!! I may have to start doing that. Maybe some hemeroid cream, condoms, vagasil…

Once more you have done this game proud!
Loved so many of your answers – the reference to Mongs in Q7 made me laugh out loud, as my friends when l lived in the caravan always referred to the ‘lords’ as the Mongs! I used to drop things into shopping trolleys here until Suze stopped me after one day l dropped a load of stuff into this woman’s trolley and when the woman turned round, she found Suze trying to pick them out and l said “Oh l am so sorry, it’s been this way ever since the fall on her last year, oh l am so so sorry!”
Suze just went beetroot red and then forbade me to go shopping anymore!!!
Truly excellent, had another idea concerning your writing – did you ever read the Diary of Adrian Mole l think if you did that style and added journal entries you would be onto a winner! The bullet point question l could see many people deleting, and yet you just rampage through it comically – well done!

I love the heat… ‘im indoors says it’s because I’m a demon. He may have a point but I’m not A Demon, I’m THE Demon and it’s QUEEN DEMON while you’re at it!! 😂

great answers, you lead a very quiet life (NOT), I love donkeys too they are so lovely and in my next house have a big garden with chickens and ducks, just love them. And of course my 2 cats, must have them. You eat healthily too (NOT) a woman after my own heart lots of chocolate, can’t go without chocolate it is the food that relaxes you, that’s what I think anyway. If I was asked who to invite for dinner you would have to be on the list I think it would be a scream, just a bit far unfortunately LOL.

Aaaah you made us laugh reading your answers – what is Chohula?
My landlady does not like the smell of frying onions, I have to wait until she is on holiday and then I rush out and buy red onions and caramelise them to put on puff pastry with goats cheese and rosemary or whatever yummy stuff I can find in my fridge.

Chohula is a brand of hot sauce – like a type of Tabasco or sriracha. I like Tabasco too but I like Tabasco in things and Chohula or sriracha on top of them! It’s easier to find handbag size bottles of Chohula though
