Annual Blog Awards 2018

Nepali-Australians Annual Blog Awards 2018

I found this on Laura’s blog and naturally, I can’t wait to nominate the blogs I love so much too! It’s very hard thing to choose.. Pretty impossible in fact – but I wanted to both participate AND go a little further.

I’ve lost a lot of people in the last year and one thing I’ve learned is never leave important stuff until tomorrow. I don’t want to regret not telling people how I feel so not only will I cast my votes here HERE – I’m making this post about why I’ve voted for everyone I have nominated.

Win or lose, in my eyes it’s the nomination and the reason behind it that counts. I don’t follow blogs I don’t enjoy and these choices were hard. How do you pick only one?!

I hope you enjoy and maybe, see a blog you should take a look at too.

Best Blog 2018

This was a horrible choice to make. Initially I was overwhelmed because really – how DO you choose? I thought about HOW to choose rather than just having blog names gallop past and all became clearer. I decided to vote for a blog that changed me. One that opened my eyes to stuff I knew nothing about. That taught me about how lucky I am and what I take for granted. That taught me how there is a beauty in simplicity and of lands where beauty and chaos are eternal bedmates. That taught me how much impact exquisite writing could have and of posts that linger in my mind months later. There’s only one Beaton and he’s Becoming The Muse

Best Photo Blog 2018

All The Shoes I Wear There’s so much more to Laura’s blog than just photography – but I could fill every wall in my house with her pictures. You know the type of photos you LONG to have taken? She takes them.

She has such a fabulous eye for a shot and I really admire her breathtaking scenes. When I grow up I want to be Laura (the growing up bit is highly unlikely though!)

Best Food Blog 2018

A Jeanne In The Kitchen Apple Bread Pudding with a Rum Caramel Sauce. Yup she went there – and took me too! I follow much bigger cooking blogs but this blog is one I love and enjoy and I wanted to give voice to the pleasure I get from following.

Best Travel Blog 2018

Cole’s Campfire This blog is written mostly by Lana about their family adventures with camping and a mix of beautiful pictures and the books she reads. It’s exactly how travel should be – a slice of life not an artificial escape from it. For me, travel means experiencing other places and this encapsulates that.

Best Fashion Blog 2018

3CStyle This is a truly unique blog with sustainable fashion, fascinating inspirations and a multinational aspect to the inspiration for some incredible posts. It’s how to make fashion yours instead of slaving to it.

Best Personal Blog 2018

I absolutely love Finding French Charming. This is such fun to read and she truly has the knack of telling a tale in a witty and self-deprecating way that’s a joy to read. I don’t think I could ever read enough posts here, they are just pure pleasure. Vive la ambulance!

Most Diverse Blog 2018

The first blog that came to mind when I read this category was A Guy Called Bloke. Rory is not only interesting witty and diverse. He’s empathetic, honest and creative. He’s a fabulous community blogger and has collected a following of very devoted aficionados. I know I’m not alone in appreciating him beyond rubies

Best New Blog 2018 (Blog must be started in 2018)

There’s a blog I ADORE that I look to read every day. I notice if he’s late posting, never mind if he has the temerity to take a day off. I’m sure you all know my admiration for Tales From The Mind Of Kristian. His stories are so varied, gripping and fun. I’ve had nothing but pleasure from his posts from day one. I urge you to follow, I think he will go far. Sadly he’s away this week and won’t see this until he gets back. Serves him right for leaving me story less!

      1. That’s a really cool thing. I wasn’t too good at it, but I’m working on it. I used to always think I needed to compose my thoughts and only then to answer or comment, but this way the topic drifts away very quickly. Looks like it’s better to just say what you think without making it into a mini-post on its own. 🙂

  1. So, I posted this on my facebook page, and I was going to pay to have an extra boost for the page. You won’t believe what they told me as to why they could not boost it. They said because I violated FB rules and regulations for advertising by having profanity in the ad. I tell you, I am SOOOOOOO sick of FB and all their crap! But, no matter what they say, it cannot take away from the joy and excitement you gave me with this. Thank you again, so much.

  2. What a fabulously warming post Britchy – with some excellent nominations and with some truly fantastic bloggers and blogging choices, l am not just saying that because l am listed, because you know l go red in the cheek when l see some compliments anyway – but because l follow mostly all of these blogs but there are a couple l don’t and l will check them out.

It’s a pity you cannot nominate yourself, as l feel that every single one of these bloggers would have placed you into this listing also.

    🙂

  3. What a lovely and pleasant surprise! A big thank you for the nomination and your eloquent presentation of my blog. You will never know how much it makes me happy. I could kiss you right now, but you’ll probably prefer a huge virtual hug. Much love, Britchy. xoxo

      1. Ooooh such choices! You have the big eyes for Puss in Boots but the glamour and panache for Catwoman. I think you could carry ‘Catwoman’ better than anyone else so I’m voting for that choice!

  4. Great post. I already follow Laura at “All the shoes I wear” and you are right, her photographs are amazing. I am a bit obsessive on the photographs, I have even bought old photos at antique shops. I also follow 3C Style, she is great and I love her post, such artists everyone. Thanks for all the links to all those other bloggers too, I have a lot of reading and catching up to do with you all.

  5. Oh wow!!!!!!!! someone hold my coffee while I try not tear up and spill coffee… This has to be the most beautiful thing someone has said/written about my blog.
