My Recommended Blog of the Day – 03/21/18

I’ve decided I want to create my own form of recognition. Not linked to anyone else’s rules. Not one that requires the recipient to do anything. Just something from me to you that’s a heartfelt and sincere appreciation of the entertainment, enlightenment and empathy I’ve come to expect.

I intend posting these recommendations two or three times a week. If anyone wants to reblog please feel free. My intention is to shout from the rooftops how much I love my recommendations!!

My first recommendation is a very special lady. The first to acknowledge me on the First Fridays thread and someone who’s comments I treasure. I’m sure many of you will have basked in her glow already, Katie of Pearls and Grit.

My favourite quote from Katie’s blog is this:

Do you know how pearls are made? It’s an interesting phenomenon. Little irritants slip in between the two shells of an oyster. To protect itself, the oyster makes a special fluid, which coats the irritant. Layers upon layers of this fluid eventually build up, creating the lustrous, but not always perfectly round pearl.

I’m a pearl. You’re a pearl. Everyone can be a pearl. We take the problems that inevitably arise in life and we create something better because we’re tougher than the issues that get under our shells.

If that didn’t hook you well, how do I know you anyway?!

Here is the link to an unfailingly supportive and gracious blogger. A charming and intelligent lady. An informative and compelling writer. Please enjoy Pearls and Grit as much as I do 😊

    1. She’s so supportive of others in addition to being a thought provoking and fun blog to follow. I have so many fabulous blogs I can’t wait to share that I’m keeping a list and using a random number generator to pick the rest! There was only ever going to be one first though and for me, that was a foregone conclusion before I ever even had this idea 😊

      1. Isn’t it such a great feeling to find amazing people across the world! I am loving blogging for this one reason the most. Can‘t wait for your next week‘s recommendations. 🍺

    1. I do love the blogging awards such as sunshine Blogger, Liebster etc and I particularly like sharing my newer finds on those. I spend quite a lot of time on them and so I wanted something for my longer term blog treasures too!

      1. Thanks for sharing. I think I have some big learning curve to overcome. Guess I’ll understand better as time goes by. I apologize if my comments on the reward makes you feel uncomfortable. It’s only because I thought it was like a class pet for each little one having a go with it. Being with my children for too long… errr, you don’t have to approve this comment if it’s kind of inappropriate. : )

      2. You have absolutely nothing to apologise for and I’m sorry if I inadvertently gave that impression. I was just carrying on the conversation with more examples of recognition! I’ve done my time with kids too lol, I used to have everyone else’s kids at mine as well as my own three – it’s no wonder I’m the way I am!

  1. I love this idea … I do a similar thing and often create a pingback to a blog I particularly liked. It’s a lovely way to create traffic for that blogger and to give thanks for peeps who have come my way too. Oooh goodness, that sounded like a sermon! Quick! Pizza and coke this way … it’s getting too serious 🤪

  2. Wow this was sure an honor to open up and see! Thanks Britchy! I’m truly humbled and grateful. I think you have hit upon a fantastic idea. I applaud your authenticity in reading and interacting with all our fellow bloggers. Thank you so much.
