Today’s prompt is ‘a song you never get tired of.’
There are a ton of songs with this as a qualifier for me. I’m going with a cover of a classic song. Honestly, I don’t really like the original of this. It’s a bit wishy washy. This version is incredible. I can and have listened to it eight, nine, ten times in a row. I don’t think I’ve ever heard every single word in a song and understood and felt it like I have in this.
The Sound Of Silence – Disturbed

A PROUD American Citizen who was born and bred in England and now resides in the US. I’m married to an American who really didn’t have a clue what he was letting himself in for - poor sod!
I’m a cranky bitch who loves cats and books and hates chocolate, politics and Dave’s. Oh and mosquitos. I hate those blood sucking parasites but since I’ve already mentioned politics I’m repeating myself!
I’m a short, skinny redhead, 3 kids, 2 dogs, not enough cats and a mouth with a death wish.
Blood group - certifiable.

I like this version too but the old one holds too many memories to let it go so I keep both on hand

I really like Simon and Garfunkel but was never that keen on this song and hate Scarborough Fair! I absolutely love the Disturbed version though

You don’t like the S&G version? Man, that is one iconic song.
I listened to this one and had to switch to another tab as I couldn’t stand looking at Mr Punk Ass.
But you got me to listen to it. A first for this particular series of posts, so I guess it’s a smashing success? 😀

I listen to it more than watch it, I’m in awe of his voice. He has such passion/emotion in it

This version is interesting. I like it. But, I prefer S&G. And, did you know they recorded two different versions?
I love Scarborough Faire, too. My family (paternal side) was very S&G oriented. My aunt & uncle had “Bridge Over Troubled Waters” as the theme to their wedding.
I grew up with all their music. Threads in my tapestry…

I like their more lively music like Cecilia which I love. Another great car song although I always seem to be stuck in traffic near Washington when I hear it!

I’d heard of this version but never listened to whole thing. Very powerful! And you’re right… you absorb it differently than the original. It has a very dark, haunting undertone where the S&G version is simply lovely melancholy.
Thanks for posting. I loved it!
