“I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
Four years ago today I recited the pledge and became a US Citizen. Something I have been amazed and humbled by every day since.
I’m a very proud citizen.

A PROUD American Citizen who was born and bred in England and now resides in the US. I’m married to an American who really didn’t have a clue what he was letting himself in for - poor sod!
I’m a cranky bitch who loves cats and books and hates chocolate, politics and Dave’s. Oh and mosquitos. I hate those blood sucking parasites but since I’ve already mentioned politics I’m repeating myself!
I’m a short, skinny redhead, 3 kids, 2 dogs, not enough cats and a mouth with a death wish.
Blood group - certifiable.

I say the pledge every day with the radio I listen to on my way to work.
Good job on keeping the patriotism alive.
You are hereby allowed to bake me a cake to celebrate yourself.

Hey, here’s something you could say to people who next tell you that they think something’s wrong with you:
“Don’t judge me – I was born to be awesome, not perfect.”

Look at you! Happy anniversary! You probably have a better grasp, and appreciation, of your citizenship than most born here.

There’s something that I need your help on. In the Winter Kill sequel (don’t worry, while I have taken a hiatus from Winter Kill, I AM working on it) I am going to have a scene where Coffee, Racquel, you, J-M, and I are going to have a movie marathon one night and I thought it would be funny for us to get into a friendly argument about some movies (inspired by me and 007 disagreeing on a couple of awesome movies LOL – one of which is Mamma Mia! I love it; he thinks its stupid 🙄 the heathen) and I was wondering:
What movies would you strongly recommend/love to watch?
What movies would you hate to watch?
What movies would you agree to watch?

I detest blood, guts and gore and films that are pure crap like 50 shades of grey. I love films like Mississippi burning, the green mile, love actually, the muppet movie, the goonies, Finest Hours and other true story movies. I absolutely love Hocus Pocus. I have very eclectic tastes in movies. Everything from kids films to old war films – just nothing with excessive violence as that just sickens me.

I loved Mississippi burning, great movie. Another good one is Places in the heart with Sally Fields. Movies now days are just not as good, so sad.

No they just do remakes – very little value, if any, in Hollywood any more

So true and so sad. No originality anymore.

Finest Hours? Is that the 2016 one with Chris Pine? Great, thank you. So would you agree to watch Jurassic Park (the first one at least); the Marvel Cinematic Universe; Star Wars; Indiana Jones; Frozen (2013) Tangled (2010), Alien; any of the James Bond movies, Disney movies, Back To The Future…????

Yes I’d watch all of the above happily! I think my favorite Disney films are Jungle Book, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid and Bedknobs and Broomsticks. I love them all though. That ‘Finest Hours’ film was a brilliant story. Totally loved it. I loved Guardians of the Galaxy especially Groot! Star Wars, Indiana Jones – all essential family viewing!

I agree – they are essential family movies! Okay, great. The Finest Hours was awesome! I especially loved how they kept it 99% accurate.

Me too! I’m very open in my tastes really, I like most types of films, there’s really just the grisly stuff I won’t watch
LikeLiked by 1 person
Same here. I will watch all sorts except the really gory stuff like in Kong Skull Island (2017).

I’m soon going to watch the 2014 version for the first time – and it’s the first version I’ve seen. I’m considering watching it in Blu ray 3D.
