Hello from North East North Carolina! I'm finally moved, still have a veritable mountain of boxes to unpack but we're currently (slowly) having a new HVAC system installed so unpacking is halted because they're running ductwork everywhere. It's slow because it's a two man team and it may be slowed further by the Dreaded Lurgy … Continue reading Hello from North Carolina!

Be Safe, Not Sorry
Here I am, like a bad penny! It’s been a hectic couple of weeks of non stop cooking, cleaning up and stopping fights. I’m pretty sure my daughter, Princess PITA could fall out with herself if left in a room alone. I’d be a great flippin’ peace Ambassador after putting out all the ‘fires’ she … Continue reading Be Safe, Not Sorry
Headin’ home..
So the day has come already. I’ll be leaving Ireland to fly home to NY. I’ve missed home all the time I’ve been here and I’ll miss here the minute I go. It’s always a worry leaving an older parent because.. you know. It's been a lovely two weeks, both here and in Tenerife and … Continue reading Headin’ home..
Driving With My Dad
I’ve realized a lot of things on this trip to see my Dad, not all of them great! He’s turned into a Mister Magoo with Tourette’s while driving for instance. How I’m still alive, well - I just don’t know! I now know this: I remember more prayers than I ever thought I knew They … Continue reading Driving With My Dad

The Week That Was!
Well this has been a hell of a week! I decided to call my son on Monday night and suggest I came to pick him up. He lives in Jacksonville NC and Florence was making a bee line for him. Bitchin’ Thoughts On Loves, Gas And The Unreliability Of Sheetz..
I left North Carolina sadly yesterday morning to begin the drive home. I've decided North is NOT my favorite direction and it probably never will be! I'm amazed and horrified at the difference in gas prices. From over $3 a gallon where I live in NY to $2.45 in North Carolina and $2.40 in Georgia/South … Continue reading Bitchin’ Thoughts On Loves, Gas And The Unreliability Of Sheetz..
Eavesdropping in Georgia..
I am loving being in Georgia!!* Some of the stuff people say is downright hilarious. Princess PITA and I were just in Target and there were two women in there. I was listening them seriously bitching out another woman and saying ‘Bless her heart’ as if to negate the shade throwing that followed. Apparently she … Continue reading Eavesdropping in Georgia..

So..... I'd gone on a day trip to France to shop when my kids were really little, Fartichoke was only about six weeks old so Brid was just over a year old. Yes, there isn't a year between them. It explains a lot about my sanity doesn't it?! Anyway it was the end of the … Continue reading Entente UN Cordiale…
